WDO Photography is owned and operated by W. Donald Orkoskey II who has more than 12 years experience. When you hire WDO Photography for your wedding Don will be there to answer any and all questions you have, to make sure your needs are met, and will always be the primary photographer on your wedding.
You won’t be surprised the day of your wedding when a stranger shows up claiming to be your photographer which can happen when you hire some of the larger studios in and around Pittsburgh.
A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Don went on to attend both Point Park University and the University of Pittsburgh where he studied and honed his skills as a top-notch shooter. Even before college he was photographing weddings and special events. Don photographed his own senior pictures and those of several of his classmates.
In his 12 years as a wedding and special events photographer Don has worked with a diverse group of couples and photographed the weddings of people from many different cultures and religious backgrounds. Understanding that each couple is unique and that every wedding is special is vital to the mission of WDO Photography and as such each couple is given individual attention. Don works with each couple to craft a plan for how their wedding will be photographed.

When not photographing weddings Don works as a full time commercial photographer, consults with businesses on their social media marketing, is a web design consultant, and a member of several community groups in and around Pittsburgh including being on the board of directors of Neighbors In The Strip. In his free time Don is an accomplished artist, having exhibited internationally. He performs and writes for an acclaimed performance art group, inline skates, and spends time gardening and doing genealogical research with his wife Dr. Teresa Orkoskey and their hairless dog Iggy.

Sarah Colligan
For the past three years assistant Sarah Colligan has worked with Don. Her artistic vision, sense of place and timing, have proven invaluable in our mission to provide one-of-a-kind expert photography services. The skills that Sarah possesses cannot be taught in school. Don has compared her vision to one of his greatest influences: Henri Cartier Bresson. As he explains this is what drew him to her work.
Sarah is a devoted wife and mother to her husband Sean and their two boys. When not working as a photographer she often has the camera pointed at the kids.
Sarah not only works as a second photographer for WDO Photography but she also acts as Don’s assistant working to ensure that the lighting, styling, make-up, and poses look great before each formal portrait is taken.
Sarah works extensively with the bride and her bridesmaids while they are getting ready for the wedding preventing uncomfortable situations that would arise from a male photographer being present while the ladies dress and apply makeup.
